Decatur 2021 Christmas Parade

This year’s Christmas parade, we’re going to be celebrating your floats favorite Decatur attraction, Christmas style! So grab your friends, and holiday spirit and Dec’ the Halls for Decatur this Christmas!

For only $50, your organization will secure a spot to show off your Christmas cheer in the parade lineup. All float entries are due by November 29th and must be paid online through Eventbrite.

This event will begin promptly at 6:00pm on Monday, December 6th (rain date Monday, December 13th). Floats can begin lining up at 4:00pm and MUST be in place by 5:30pm.

The parade route will begin at 2nd Ave. & Gordon Dr. and end at the Old State Bank.

Four cash prizes will be awarded for the following categories: Best Decorated Float, Best Walking Group, Best Animal Unit and Best Decorated Vehicle.

Week before the parade…

An email will be sent by Tuesday, November 30th with your zone assignment. When registering your float or group be sure to use the email of which you would like your zone assignment sent to.

If you would like to register after the deadline, please email Caki Bolding at cbolding@bgcnal.com. A late fee of $5 per day will be added to your $50 fee.All proceeds from the event benefit our local Boys & Girls Clubs!No refunds. Please remember this is a charity event.

PARADE RULES

-$50 float registration includes ONE vehicle and ONE trailer. A fee of $25 will be charged per each additional trailer.

-All entrants should keep safety, both for participants and the general public, as their primary concern.

-No objects (candy, prizes, etc.) are to be thrown by any participant in the parade. Candy may be handed out.

-The purpose of this parade is to provide enjoyment for the community. Therefore, the Decatur Jaycees maintain the right to refuse entry to any participant who exhibits unruly or unacceptable behavior.

-No Santa impersonators will be allowed in the parade (only the “real” Santa in his sleigh).

-There is only one Princess group allowed in the parade, so as to not confuse the children. A princess group has already signed up for 2021. We ask that you not allow anyone in your group to dress up as a princess.
